Conrad’s original tends to get a little forgotten after the vivid imagery and performances of the 1970s classic – indeed many people only know the title Heart of Darkness by the excellent documentary that Eleanor Coppola shot of her husband, Martin Sheen, Dennis Hopper, Marlon Brando et al’s journey into the dark side of the soul.
